Eric Zeman from InformationWeek published an article about the possibility of Android 5.0 coming out in June. The 5.0 version is named ‘Jelly Bean’, which sounds very yummy. In the article it is mentioned that Google’s next target for Android is not only mobile/tablet space but it will be to the netbook/notebook arena, this comes to no surprise I guess because of Google’s ambition with Chrome OS. The other thing that I think they are looking at is making Android as ubiquitous as it’s search engine is. Google ambitious plan is to run Android everywhere which will give them the leverage in mining information about users, allowing them to use their advertising power. The only hope is that Google will not make the next version of Android more bloated than what it is right now. Either they need to rework their frameworks to make it easier for developers to extend Android or they need to introduce new architecture to make it easier for other developers.
